Dance Marathon is a nation-wide movement that raises money for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. This year, 2019, Western Illinois University’s chapter of Dance Marathon has decided to rebrand to make this organization more our own. Thus, we are now WIU RockyTHON!
This year, Western Illinois University RockyTHON is aiming to raise $175,000, but we can’t do that alone.
We work all year to meet our goal. We hold events, such as a Pancake Breakfast, Spaghetti Dinner, and a Color Run in order to help us raise money for this amazing cause.
The event itself lasts for 12 hours, and participants are asked to stand for 12 hours straight. There is a silent auction, performers from various WIU students, food, activities, and stories from the Miracle Families who we are raising money for.
Altogether, RockyTHON is an event that aims to spread joy and happiness and improve the lives of the children and families that are affected every single day. Children’s Miracle Network hospitals never turn down a child or a family, regardless of their ability to pay. Donations, fundraising, and participation are so important in helping make a difference! What better way to be charitable than to have fun at the same time?
